5 Spring Interior Design Trends to Ignite the Season of Refresh

Written by Brittany Diaz | Mar 15, 2022 7:52:10 PM

With just 5 days til Spring officially begins, we've got 5 Spring trends to kick off the season of refresh, revive, and rejuvenate! Spring 2022 is all about mindfulness. Being mindful in the way we choose our furniture, mindful of the earth, mindful of the gift that is the present day. With these subtle, yet impactful interior design shifts, we can allow ourselves to stay grounded at home, put our mental health first, and be ready to take on the outside world with warmth, love, and compassion.

1. Curve your Enthusiasm

There's just something about a curve that speaks relaxation into the universe. Like arching your back in a good stretch, the soothing warmth of a hug, and just the simple comfort of a protective circle. With all that in mind, we encourage you to go for the curved furniture that is really going to have subliminal effects on your mental health at home. It makes for a softer landing pad and even elevates a space with its sculpture-like quality.

Take this grey Rome sofa from Zuomod for example, it's own little ode to the Guggenheim.

Or earthy, tree-trunk coffee tables with round edges.

Or oval-like rattan lamp shades.

Really curve your enthusiasm and create energetic flow throughout your home with archways instead of rectangular doors.

2. Vintage and Sustainable Accents

When we are mindful about the planet, we should really be cognizant about the furniture and decor pieces we choose. When we repurpose an old treasure, we unknowingly reduce waste, overproduction, and our footprint. Yes, a brand new piece can be exhilarating, but so can a vintage armoire with decades of rich history and spirit. Or if a new piece is what you're in search for, consider sustainable brands that are cognizant about the well-being of our planet in their craft. Weathered patinas bring about a touchable texture and such sacred sentimentality. We encourage your to browse online marketplaces to source some really great finds - our designers will even include them in your design!

3. Did someone say, flowers?

At the risk of sounding totally cliché, we say jump for florals this spring! Hear us out. By channeling our inner Isabella from Encanto, having your home dripping in waterfalls of color can really bring out the fresh in refresh this season. Implement both soothing and vibrant green plants, timeless blue patterns that resemble our favorite blossoms, and of course warm earthy tones in floral clad Persian rugs. Or go wild with bougainvillea pinks or ornate nature-inspired wallpapers and textiles - the key is not to pressure yourself with getting it perfect. Simply experiment with all of the visuals and colors that bring you joy, and let the creativity take over. Because, let's be honest - flowers are just good for the soul!

Take our client Salma's bold, eclectic dining room as the perfect example of going full force in letting nature and flowers be the muses of her home.

Not ready to take on real plant babies just yet? We offer these faux Kalanchoe stems from West Elm on our e-commerce site to help you get in the Spring spirit.

4. 15 Shades of Brown

We could literally spend the day admiring the varying shades of brown, but we thought we'd name 15 that we encourage you to implement into your home's color palette. Chocolate, camel, caramel, coffee, cinnamon, walnut, hickory, tawny, syrup, espresso, tortilla, carob, brunette, umber, and wood. You can actually feel the texture and envision the coziness just by reading the different shades.

Elle's earthy hideaway is the perfect example of implementing many of the earthy shades into one room to create a cohesive oasis.

5. Sprinkled Luxury

The final trend we're loving and setting this season is adding doses of luxury to the most unlikely spaces. For example, a small chandelier in the laundry room can be that tiny bit of glitz that puts smile on your face when doing a tedious-feeling task. Or adding a Cadiz shell chandelier to an entryway is a great way to stimulate your guests and yourself after a long day of the outside world. Even something as simple as a beautiful glass or gold soap dispenser at the kitchen sink can elevate your spirits.
