By Brittany Diaz | 7 Min Read

Everyone knows that green is the signature color of St. Patrick's Day! But not everyone knows how to implement this fabulous color into their home tastefully. To celebrate the  joyous day, we've collected our favorite tips for adding green into your home.

1. Paint the Walls

Sage, emerald, eucalyptus, pine, mint, olive, and even nineties neon - the list of green paint colors is endless! No matter your palette, painting an accent wall or an entire room a shade of green immediately refreshes a room by giving it new life. It's bold, but it can ground you in the color of nature.

Take a look at this home office we designed for our clients, Kristy and Desmond. Because they both work from home, they needed to feel motivated to be productive and inspired to be creative. The obvious choice then for their office room color was Hunter Green, perfect for this adventurous hiking couple.

2. Green Accent Furniture

Green walls a bit much for your palette? No problem! We recommend adding a green sofa or accent chair instead to really make the color pop against its neutral counterparts.

Shop our client Mariam's  eclectic home office for this forest green leather sofa. It made her office warmer, more inviting, and added a vibrant contrast to her calming home. Notice how her designer added small hints of olive green decor, like small vases and flower pots, to bring the room together.

Or try a simple fern green accent chair like our client Rio did in his bohemian oasis fit for a creative musician. Shop his entire room, including the divine Carson Carrington Boahaga Foam lounge chair, right here.

3. Green Cabinetry

It's all over instagram, and for very good reason! Adding green cabinets can root your kitchen in the ingredients that fill it - let fresh cut lettuce, spinach, pears, and herbs be your guide. Even the deep green of cucumbers can be your muse. See for yourself below.

Pairing mint green with an ornate patterned floor can revive the most inspiring of places like your laundry room! Take a look at the make-over Kari's laundry room got from our designers here at Collov, and you'll see what we mean.

4. Green Plants

We love a good bouquet of wild flowers, but to bring in that lively energy you get from being in nature, adding green plants to your home is just the ticket. So let that green thumb of yours take over - add plants to living room corners, bedrooms, and even long, cascading vines of Ivy can liven up your bathroom. They have stress relieving properties, which is perfect after a long day.

Take a look at our client Anna's multi-purpose room. She added an inviting air to her home by perfectly positioning her plant to take in all of the light streaming in from the windows, while also dazzling her guests with its tall,  long leaves.

5. All Green Everywhere

And if green is absolutely your thing, we are not here to stop you. Let the joy run wild! Pair green wall paint with green rugs for a monochromatic room, but be sure to add a few accent colors like gold and salmon pink to offset the room. And, of course, add a bar cart for the infamous holiday of Irish beer and green cocktails. Enjoy!
