It's been quite the season for the nostalgic millennial in all of us! Today marks the finale of the "And Just Like That" TV series.
To pay homage to this new chapter of "Sex and the City," we took a look back at some of our favorite apartment sets in the Sex and the City movies and created a haven for the Upper East Side resident, Carrie Bradshaw, sprinkling hints of her eclectic glam, mix-and-match single life past.
In the most Carriest of ways, we blended the ultra luxe with the bold, pattern-heavy femme and, of course, the never-ending flirtation with rich color.
Take a look at this scene above in Carrie's revamped single-lady apartment. Did you notice the floral print chairs Samantha, Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte are sitting on? So did we!
Which is why we added our own version of floral seating with these fabulous Anthropologie chairs in the living room design. To add even more feminine power and strong energy into the space, we lined the wall with striking female portraits like the Pembrooke by Janet Hill and a glitzy chandelier as the central focus of the room. It wouldn't be Sex and The City worthy without a bar cart to fix up a nice end-of-day Cosmopolitan cocktail.
And we couldn't forget the rich velvet blue sofa in the "down-to-earth" apartment Carrie and Mr. Big opted for at the beginning of the second SATC movie. I mean, just look at the scene below - blue, beautiful, and Big.
It wouldn't be a newspaper columnists' writing cave without a sleek, fashionista-worthy desk to let the creative juices flow. We added a comfy, faux fur rug to keep the feet warm and cozy for those late night writing sessions.
We opted for a polished wood cabinet with accent books and ornate urn in our rendition, but to really let the writer shine, we also recommend adding a stylish bookshelf in its place to host your collection of colorful stories and whimsical novels. Carrie did not disappoint with her inspirational touch below.
Now let's shift into the bedroom. Patterns, and tiger stripes, and art - oh my!
We're not going to lie to you - we totally copied Carrie's bedroom teal and tasseled curtains and regal damask wallpaper from the scene below.
But to make sure we never lost sight of the original Carrie flair, we incorporated the art gallery wall displayed in her infamous Brownstone apartment. We're simply swooning over that bold, bright teal wall paint and damask, ceramic lamp.
And it wouldn't be a complete ode to Sex and the City without a tribute to a pair of fabulous, crystal-studded shoes. I don't think this world will ever be over the iconic blue Manolo Blahnik heels.
And Just Like That...We have a design mixtape here to serenade you back into the love affair that was Carrie's transformation and journey. Now go forth and create your own abode full of vibrant, creative personality, brimming with experiment and wonder!
